Stuey - High Roller - The Stu Ungar Storey
Honorable mentions of casino/poker related films......
Flame of the Barbary Coast : "A deck of cards is like a woman -- usually when you pick one up, you wish you hadn't."
Dakota: '$20,000, you couldn't win that in a poker game!' "Not unless I was dealing."
Robin and the Seven Hoods (1964): "When your opponent is holding all the aces, there's only one thing to do. Kick over the table."
Canary Murder Case: "A man's true nature comes through when playing cards."
My Little Chickadee: "Is this a game of chance?" "Not the way I play it, no."
Michael Shayne - Private Detective: "Never play the other fellows game."
Gunfight at the O.K. Corral is one of many films to feature poker player/gambler Doc Holliday -- yes, the original Doc. Great line: "Doc what are you doing up… it's only three!"
Gunfight also has a scene where Wyatt Earp jails a woman simply because she's playing cards!
The Gambler From Natchez : 'How did you know he was bluffing?' "He kept looking back at his hole cards. If you got it, you don't need to keep looking back to see what you got."
A Man Called Sledge: "Hate don't belong in a card game, but old man, I'm gonna take every grain of gold you have in front of you."
Cheyenne Autumn (Wyatt Earp to Doc Holliday discussing what to do with a card cheat in their three-handed game): "If we shoot him, we won't have anyone to play with."
With Christmas just aroung the corner and if you are looking for gift ideas then the current newsletter theme may be the answers your gift ideas.

As if online poker hasn’t taken enough hits in recent times, two major scandals have further dented confidence in the security and integrity of the industry.
First up, after weeks of ongoing investigation and countless rumours, PokerStars has released an official statement regarding the issue of the WCOOP Main Event winner 'TheV0id' using multiple accounts in the tournament that he won nearly $1.4 million. The official statement read:
“The investigation into the WCOOP Main Event has now been concluded. We have determined, based on the totality of evidence, that the tournament winner “TheV0id” was in breach of the PokerStars Terms of Service. In the interests of Game Integrity, “TheV0id” has been disqualified from first place.
All other WCOOP Main Event prizewinners in addition to the player who originally bubbled in 415th place will therefore advance one place in the prize pool.”
• Meanwhile, Absolute Poker has (finally) released a statement of its own relating to an internal security breach that has been identified.
“Absolute Poker has identified an internal security breach that compromised our systems for a limited period of time. The cause of the breach has been determined and completely resolved.
In addition, all necessary resources, both internal and external, have been engaged to ensure this does not happen again.
All players affected by the security breach will be identified during the audit process that has been initiated and all funds, including interest, will be returned. Absolute Poker would like to apologise for the recent events.” Ouch.
• The absence of a major international tournament that lures the best players to the Harbour City has been filled with the announcement that Star City will host the grand final of the PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT).
The $6300 buy-in main event will not only attract the top poker players from across the world, but thanks to Star City and PokerStars satellites, will also offer even Australia’s pub poker players a shot at the multi-million dollar prize pool.
The main event, which will be held from December 13-16, will be the culmination of the APPT’s first season, comprising events in South Korea, the Philippines and a new event just announced for Macau (November 22-27).
StarCity’s National Poker Manager, Adam McGregor said the APPT grand final was a fantastic opportunity — not only for Star City but also for all aspiring Australian poker players.
“The APPT has the potential to become one of the world’s most prestigious and lucrative poker tours. We are very happy to be part of this exciting new venture bringing high quality tournament poker to the Asia Pacific region,” McGregor said.
