School is Definitely IN for the Summer at SKYCITY Adelaide! You may rule the roost at home when it comes to playing ‘Snap’ and ‘Old Maid’ - but how would you fare at a game of poker against your friends?
Well, if you wouldn’t know if you were holding a *‘Dolly Parton’ or the **‘Village People’ in your hand – but you’re keen to learn all about the King of Card Games – then now’s the time to pay a visit to SKYCITY Adelaide. From November 28, SKYCITY Adelaide is introducing its very own Poker School to the hugely popular Poker Zone. The Poker School is the perfect place to unravel the mysteries of poker playing & get in some pain-free practice before you throw your chips where it really counts!
For two hours every Monday night (7pm – 9pm), the Poker Zone’s ‘classroom’ is open for customers to learn the basic skills of poker. Tickets are just $20 per person for two hours of tuition with SKYCITY Adelaide’s friendly and experienced poker dealers and experts – and best of all –$20 is all it will cost you – because SKYCITY can guarantee you won’t lose a cent in the process of learning to play! Entry is first come first served and only 20 places are available each Monday. The Poker School is all about having fun while picking up tips on how to play – so everyone who participates plays with ‘funny money’. Not a bad idea for those who might take a while to get the hang of the game!
The popularity of poker world-wide has hit an all-time high – fuelled by a growing interest in the game among Hollywood celebrities and more recently – the ratings success of poker tournaments on TV.
In response to customer demand – and after a four year absence of the game - SKYCITY Adelaide re-introduced poker back to the complex in July this year with the opening of a dedicated poker area – The Poker Zone and has been running regular Texas Hold’em Poker Tournaments ever since. The area is immensely popular and has prompted a new guard of younger players to step up to the tables – with an increasing number of women taking up the challenge and proving serious contenders!
The Poker Zone will be a hive of activity this festive season - with activity six nights a week! Monday nights see the Poker School in session and Tuesday’s offer something different altogether – with two tables dedicated from 7pm to the all new ‘Sit and Go’ No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker Tournaments. The rules for ‘Sit and Go’ tournaments are simple – as soon as a table is full the action commences. So there’s no need to register to play and then wait around to find out when the tournament is full and you can begin to play. The second series of the popular No-Limit Hold’em Poker Tournaments is currently underway every Wednesday night and from Thursday through to Saturday – the Poker Zone offers regular poker games.
So spend some of your Summer learning how to put on a winning poker face and you might even find yourself ready for a Tournament challenge before Autumn arrives!
